Homework For Life

Recently I’ve been very inspired by this YouTube video from Matthew Dicks called “Homework for Life

Matthew is a professional storyteller(?!). I heard him on an episode of Lenny’s Podcast and was immediately taken by his point-of-view & storytelling philosophy. He mentions this Homework for Life exercise changed his “storytelling lens” to one that is honed to notice the everyday magic of life. I love that.

In 2010 – my Buddhist teacher gave us a homework assignment to be happy every single day for a year. To find at least one piece of your day that brings you joy & write it down. I kept track of mine on a spreadsheet like Matthew did & ended up doing the assignment for two years. Matthew’s TED talk inspired me to pick it this practice again. I am very grateful for this
