Is a blog post by Shinzen Young

What I love about it is:
- He acknowledges Enlightenment as a real thing
- He does a fantastic job of describing the actual experiences in a way that isn’t highly paradoxical
- He digs into two different sub-types of experiences – the sudden flash and the slow burn
- His orientation of the spiritual teacher as a coach
Some choice quotes I enjoyed:
“Enlightenment has a functional and liberating impact on identity that’s quite different and in a sense diametrically opposed to things like insanity or mediumship.”
“A person who experiences enlightenment will usually evolve over time. One of my favorite quotes is from Zheng Wuguang, a teacher whom I lived with in Taiwan. “Today’s enlightenment is tomorrow’s mistake.” So don’t fixate on how you look at enlightenment because there are other things that can unfold.”
Highly recommended for Enlightenment nerds out there.
